The Lion and the Mouse

The Lion has been wakened from a dream by the Mouse, moving over his face. Rising angry, Lion has caught him and was going to kill him when the Mouse plaintively asked, speaking: "If you only would not eat me, I would be sure to compensate your kindness." The Lion laughed and let him go. It happens soon after that, that the Lion has been caught by some hunters who tied him. The Mouse, recognizing its roar, has arrived, gnawed a cord with his teeth, and released him exclaiming  "you have derided idea of that I ever was able to help you, expecting to receive from me any payment of your advantage; and now you know, that it is possible for even Mice to con benefits on the Lion."
